The Green Band gave the crowd more than the expected last night at the Rollin' on the River blues festival in Keokuk last night. It was a great set. Can't wait for Lacona next weekend.

The Gig at Crazy Connie's Landing at Lake Rathbun was hot! We was all up in the zone and the audience LOved it. Looks like we's gonna play the big Pig Out this year at the Landing.

After a long, much needed sabbatical in January and February, Steve McLain and the JCGB have hit the ground running with some great shows already this spring including opening for the legendary Big Brother and the Holding company and we're just as proud to be openin' for the award winning country music powerhouse known as The Kentucky Headhunters this weekend. Not a show to miss.
After our successful recording effort at the Sondheim Center in Fairfield we'll be recording more live shows this summer and gathering live footage documenting the music and good times we've come to enjoy year after year with our awesome fans. We're thinkin' of calling the subsequent DVD compilation...."Welcome Friends."
Consider, if you will, David Hurlin's over the top percussion prowess, the singular coolness of Kevin Riley's highly individualized style, the new addition of the thumpin' bass playin' and thundrin' back up vocals of Tim Duffy, and the arrival of a grip of new fantastic original's written by songwriter and front man Steve McLain.... In light of all this, I, Ed the saxplayer, am entirely psyched. I dig bein' part of a band that continuously has moved forward musically.
I should cut this short before I start to ramble...........but I look forward to sharin' another golden summer with our fans, a.k.a the JCGB Brethren & Sistren. The best is yet to come.

Four more days to come up with a creative and hopefully appalling costume for the Green Band Halloween-Party/Show at the Comfort Inn and Suites in Fort Madison this Saturday, Halloween night. $69.00 a room is the special rate for anyone who says they're there to see the JCGB. $5.00 cover if yer in a costume and $10.00 if yer not. We'll be partying like rock stars after the show.....It's gonna be tight y'all.
